Death and Return of Superman develops in a very similar way to the comics, where the action takes place as the characters appear (monsters, villains, etc) who try and stop Superman.

In Death and Return of Superman you will find a superhero who's half man, half robot, who rarely uses weapons, and in the majority of cases doesn't need to fly. With his superhero powers, Superman has to avoid attacks from his enemies in Death and Return of Superman using pistols, bombs, etc. The fights take place man on man, with life bars at the bottom of the screen.
